Why reusable cannula and pump sucker instruments instead of disposables?
Economics. In 40+ years of use, no reports of ostial injury or patient morbidity as opposed to disposable hand held or balloon tip cannula.
Disposables require no handling and cleaning. Aren't reusable instruments hard to care for?
Not true, every institution has a central "reprocessing" facility manned by highly skilled personnel. They handle delicate and complex cleaning needs of surgical instrumentation every day. There are no additional costs for storage and use, unlike disposables. The cost of reprocessing is very defined and a fixed cost recovered in the use of the instrument.
How do I know which of Pemco's coronary cannula products to use?
Size, geometry, ergonomics, tip configuration- working with the surgeon to match the cannula to the patient, not the patient to the cannula with limited disposable designs.
There are so many types of cardioplegia systems and heart lung machines in use. How do we know your products will fit our practice?
